Laser cutting heat transfer appliqués is quick, easy, and precise by using your Epilog Laser system and a PVC-free heat transfer product. Kiss cutting the graphics with your laser and applying them to a shirt takes a matter of minutes. You can even create multi-colored appliqués by combining multiple colors of transfer materials to your design.
It's very important to use a PVC-free heat transfer products with the laser. We used Siser EasyWeed Heat Transfer product. Any Siser material marked "Compsition: PU" is PVC-free.
For this project, we used a 50-watt Helix with the following settings:
Red Vector Line: 50% speed, 10% power, 500 frequency, 1200 dpi
Green Vector Line (Kiss-cut settings): 13-15% speed, 1% power, 500 frequency, 1200 dpi
Adjust the settings for your laser and wattage using the suggested settings from the manual.
Open the file and modify the design as you would like.
Next, cut a sheet of the White EasyWeed material to fit inside your laser, and place it into the upper left corner of your system.
Now send over the Color Mapping speed and power settings (adjusted for your laser wattage) and cut the appliqué material. It's best to test your settings on a small test piece to find the perfect kiss-cutting settings for your wattage of laser.
Once you have kiss cut your heat transfer materials, peel away all the excess material that you do not want to heat transfer to your t-shirt.
We'll send you a brochure, as well as engraved and cut samples created with the laser.
